Lesli Flick's Fundraising Page
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. On May 31st, it is my honor to be walking for my friend Adriane Schorr. Adriane was diagnosed with Scleroderma in 2003. Scleroderma is a chronic, often progressive disease that can be life-threatening. It can cause thickening and tightening of skin, as well as serious damage to internal organs including the lungs, heart, kidneys, esophagus and gastrointestinal tract. To date, there is no known cause or cure for Scleroderma.
Just to tell you a little bit about Adriane.. she is one of the most special people that I know. She has the biggest heart and most beautiful smile. She has been a great friend to me for 14 years - she even drove all the way up to New Haven, CT last September to watch me finish my first 1/2 marathon with a home-made sign and all... now that is a good friend. I love our conversations: talking about books, crafting, running, our families.. Adriane just always can make a day seem bright. Every year I feel more blessed to have her in my life. It is so unfair that she has to suffer from this disease. Although Adriane is faced with challenges each and every day of her life, she continues to be strong and fight with optimism.
