Lesli Flick's Fundraising Page
To My Friends & Family-
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. On May 23rd, I will be walking in honor of my friend Adriane. In 2003, Adriane was diagnosed with Scleroderma, an autoimmune disease. Scleroderma is a chronic, often progressive disease. It causes thickening and tightening of skin, as well as serious damage to internal organs including the lungs, heart, kidneys, esophagus, and gastrointestinal tract. For some, scleroderma can be life-threatening due to the severity of organ involvement. To date, there is no known cause or cure.
Just to tell you a little bit about Adriane.. I have known Adriane for 16 years- she is not only a friend- she is like part of my family. A week doesn't go by without an email or a quick phone call to catch up and say hello.. and as small as that might be, it is enough to brighten my day. Adriane's smile is contagious.. no matter what, she has an unstoppable attitude and moves ahead.. and that is something I truly admire. I thank her for being who she is.. a truly remarkable lady.. and everyday I am so sorry that she has to suffer with this disease.
