Kidney Patient -- Helping the NKFM!
Hi everyone!
I am an intern at The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan. I will be coordinating the MAY 5, 2007 DOWNRIVER Walk with the help of the NKFM. This cause is very important to me - as a 3-time kidney transplant recipient. Helping the NKFM with walks such as these aid thousands of people in Michigan - with Chronic Kidney Disease, Diabetes, and Hypertension. The NKFM helped me during my illness, and I want to continue to pay it forward, so to speak.
After six treatments of chemotherapy for my illness at eleven years old, four times on dialysis, peritonitis, viral meningitis, shingles, blood clots, seizures, being unable to eat, and finally three kidney transplants, I am where I am in life; and I hopefully will continue this path:
I am a Graduate student at Eastern Michigan University, getting my degree in Social Work. I am hoping to work with kidney patients (both transplanted and on dialysis), as well as to help prevent Kidney Disease in all Michiganders.
All credit card numbers given on this page are secure and will not be given to anyone. The NKFM will NEVER give your email address to anyone - unless you ask. :o)
Please allow us (and the Downriver community) a chance to fight Chronic Kidney Disease in Michigan!
Very Sincerely,
Leslie Taylor - 2007 Downriver Coordinator, NKFM Intern, and Grateful 3-Time Kidney Transplant Recipient.
