This summer, North Portland Yoga is taking part in Living Yoga's 2010 Yogathon, Yoga for Everybody! Living yoga is a local non-profit that provides free yoga classes to youth and adults in correctional facilities, drug and alcohol recovery centers, domestic violence shelters, and those accessing other transitional services. Check out www.living-yoga.org for more information on the great work they're doing in our community.
The yogathon works just like a walk-a-thon. Students can make a commitment goal and reach out to friends and family to make pledges to support tht goal and help raise funds to support Living Yoga's students. For example, if your goal is to complete 20 classes during July and August, then you can ask your friends and family to help you with a pledge / class or a general donation.
Being a part of the Yogathon is important to us! Yoga has brought so much healing, freedom, and joy in our lives, and the money you raise for Living Yoga will help to bring that same benefit to those who need it most.
As part of the Yogathon, North Portland Yoga is offering th following prizes to those who join our team:
$200 or more: 10% off your next class card
$400 or more: 20% off your next class card
Whoever raises the most ($1000 or more): one year unlimited yoga pass
Living Yoga and their sponsors also have prizes on their website.
