Why should you donate to this appeal?

The Maitreya Universal Education School is in Bodhgaya, Bihar, one of India’s poorest regions. These village children have no other opportunities, no other chance to break the cycle of poverty.

The school is seriously short of funding, but with your help they can continue to:

• provide free education (including books, uniforms, a daily nutritious meal and onsite healthcare) .

• accept students regardless of religion, caste, gender or social status.

• inspire children with the qualities of leadership and the motivation to bring change, prosperity and well-being to their communities.
   
• provide a warm, caring and happy environment, free from fear and prejudice.

The Maitreya Universal Education School currently teaches 500 students: 

• Most are day students from Kindergarten to Class 10.
   
• Evening classes are provided for students who cannot attend in the daytime, as well as some adults.
   
• There is also a Vocational Training Centre for adults.

These are great kids who deserve a chance. They are highly motivated and eager for a good education, which is their only real hope for making it out of poverty and benefiting their communities.

It costs $240 to educate one child for a year.

My goal is to raise $1200.
That will send 5 kids to this great school
and give them the chance of a lifetime.
