Linda Lee's Fundraising Page
Olivia Lee's family is raising money for the "Walk for Lupus Now". Olivia is my granddaughter and Renee McClellan's great granddaughter. I think we can speak for her many grandmas that she is very loved and holds a special place in all our hearts. Olivia is 10, at the age of 7 she had extensive testing and was diagnosed with Lupus. We cried but Livie didn't, she is a trooper and so mature for her age. We all take part in her care, hoping she will not have any flare up's. I think the hardest part for her is not being able to play out in the sunshine like other kids. Olivia has to be very careful with outdoor activities, starting with the time of day she goes out and then making sure she has her hat on, her sunscreen and most of all staying in the shade. NO afternoon picnics, outdoor pools, boating, or spending the day at the lake. She becomes very ill and it breaks our hearts. Olivia does enjoy camping with her family at Defa's Ranch, where we are in the trees and shade. She loves every minute of it and we plan her activities carefully. Her father prepared a special wall in their home with pegs where Olivia hangs her many hats and she has quite the collection. I'm asking you to help us raise money by donating or registering for "Walk for Lupus Now". The theme is "Zero in 50". It has been 50 years since the last drug was approved for the treatment of lupus. If you can, please help us with this worthy cause. The walk is May 2nd at Liberty Park, with a band playing and a drawing for raffle prizes. It starts at 11:00 a.m... so you won't have to get up early!
