Linda Leo - Raising $$ for Maine Handicapped Skiing
Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page. My daughter Sara has been skiing with Maine Handicapped Skiing for 8 years now. She can now ski without a tip retention device or tether and has favorite trails at Sunday River where she likes to go fast. She really enjoys skiing and meeting other disabled people at Maine Handicapped Skiing.
MHS holds a ski-a-thon every year, which raises money so that all disabled people have the opportunity to ski for no charge including lessons and equipment from the 350 volunteers. I have been a volunteer in the program for 29 years and it gives me great joy to teach disabled children and adults how to ski as well as develop self-confidence. They also have a summer program for disabled people where Sara has participated in adaptive bicycling and kayaking. MHS also has adaptive golf, canoeing, and fishing...all for no charge due to the generosity of people like you.
The ski program starts in January and runs through March from Sunday to Saturday. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Hope you enjoy the video of Sara skiing...she really enjoys it!
