My name is Skylar and I am the honorary Captain of Team Romsos. I am 3 years old. I love making new friends and saying "Hi" to everyone I meet! My Mom says I am sassy, strong-willed and very independent. I have my Daddy right where I want him and my big brother Zach is my best friend. I want to be just like him. He and I only fight a few times a day!
There are so many things that I love to do. Playing outside is lots of fun. My family and I do lots of fun things together. I love to go boating, fourwheeling and snowmobiling. AND both my Grandpas have golfcarts! I LOVE riding in golfcarts. I keep trying to drive but they say I am too short. I also like to play in the water, play with my dolls and take care of my dog, Jetta. I can always count on her to eat my green beans at dinner time!
I hope you will be able to join my family and I at the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin's Annual Awareness Walk. My family and I are proud to be a part of this wonderful event for the last 3 years. It means a lot to us. Last year, I was still using a walker and my parents only let me walk for a short distance. They didn't want me to overdo it. Boy was I mad! I was not ready to stop. So for the last 8 months I have been in training and I plan to walk (or run) the entire way! Do you think you can keep up with me?
Please join us on Sunday, September 27th at the Milwaukee County Zoo and walk with us as part of Team Romsos. It will be an incredible day of celebration with family, friends and people who want to raise awareness, raise funds, and raise the hope of a better world for all people with Down syndrome. With your support and involvement, our goals of acceptance, inclusion and empowerment will become a reality!
