I'm *trying* to be a hero for the American Red Cross by raising $1,000 for local emergency services.  It's my hope that you will be a Hero with me by joining my Hero Team.  Your gift would be a great help.

The Red Cross and its volunteers provide so many valuable services to our communities.  Hopefully none of you will ever have to face a disaster or need disaster services...but isn't it comforting to know...they'll be there if, and when, we do.  I know I was personally grateful for volunteers' hospitality in 2006 after a tornado ripped through Andrew County just three miles from my childhood home.  They served meals to everyone who was helping with the clean-up effort.  More importantly, the Red Cross provided disaster services and a place to stay for some of my neighbors who'd lost their homes.

It's a great organization I support whole-heartedly, and hope you will too.
