Hello friends!! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (RMHC®-CNI) is hosting our 4th Annual Southwest Airlines Plane Pull event on Saturday, October 9th, where our team (the McPlane Pullers) will enter into a massive tug of war between with a 737 airplane! We're competing to pull the plane in the fastest time, and in order to rally support and compete in the tournament- our team is fundraising to reach our team goal of $4,000!
As you may know, I have been working for this wonderful charity for nearly two years!!! I started working at the House in my hometown of Oak Lawn and just recently started working in our chapter office on the Events Team in Oak Brook. Both jobs have been and continue to be amazing experiences for me that enabled me to cross paths with so many great people who have impacted my life in one way or another—House guests, volunteers, co-workers, donors, House Council members, Board members, etc… the list goes on and on!
As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child”—and I see this lived out each and every day with the charity by so many different people coming together and utilizing their gifts and talents for the betterment of the charity. To keep these Houses going, we need YOUR help!! To stay at a House, it is a suggested donation of $10 a night, but in reality it costs $50 a night to operate (but no family is ever turned away for inability to pay). Can you spare to donate $10 to help the families we serve?
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thanks again and I will leave you with this poem.
~Lindsay
“This is the House
Where families meet
To continue their lives,
To eat and sleep,
To find their strengths
And dry their tears,
To look forward with hope
To the better years.
This is the House
That becomes their Home.
This is the House
That love built”
