This year, Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana (RMHC®-CNI) has created an ALL NEW challenge which is bigger than ever! Help me in my quest to play tug-of-war with a semi-truck and a fire truck!
“Pulling for the House” is sure to be a great time with games, raffles, prizes, food, drinks, and even a "Joes vs. Pros" challenge against Barzeen and the Strongmen!
We're competing to pull these obstacles in the fastest time, and in order to rally support and compete in the tournament- our team is fundraising to reach our team goal of $4,000!
As you may know, I have been working for this wonderful charity for nearly three years!!! I started working at the House in my hometown of Oak Lawn and have worked in our chapter office on the Events Team in Oak Brook for a year now. Both jobs have been and continue to be amazing experiences for me that enabled me to cross paths with so many great people who have impacted my life in one way or another—House guests, volunteers, co-workers, donors, House Council members, Board members, etc… the list goes on and on!
As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child”—and I see this lived out each and every day with the charity by so many different people coming together and utilizing their gifts and talents for the betterment of the charity. To keep these Houses going, we need YOUR help!! To stay at a House, it is a suggested donation of $10 a night, but in reality it costs $50 a night to operate (but no family is ever turned away for inability to pay). Can you spare to donate $10 to help the families we serve?
