Dear Family and Friends,

In the picture, you will see that last year I shaved my head to raise money for children's cancer treatment.  Although walking is not as physically drastic to me as shaving my head, I am walking this year for the Reno AIDS Walk for a cause as drastic and as needy.

Please consider joining the Reno AIDS Walk this year.  Your entry fee goes directly towards funding agencies that assist people living with HIV/AIDS, including Northern Nevada HOPES.  As you may know, I have been with HOPES since I was a graduate student in 2002 and my passion towards this cause began when I lost a junior high school teacher to AIDS in the 90's.  I remain employed at HOPES today.

If you can't join us on the walk, please consider a donation of any size towards my fundraising target. This is one of the only major fundraising events in Reno specifically focused on AIDS and it is critical to support programs that are not grant-funded, like emergency housing and food needs.
