Lindsay Oberleitner's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the National Association for Children of Alcoholic's Run for the Children. I will be running the Detroit Marathon on Sunday, October 18th and training has already begun for me! I love running and this will be my 5th marathon (2nd Detroit marathon).
I'm really excited about running for this cause which means so much to me both personally and professionally. Providing outreach and treatment for families who are affected by the abuse of alcohol and other substances is something that I feel very passionate about. I've seen the effect that substance use can have on families first hand and have also experienced what a difference effective treatment can make in the lives of a family. I've seen the difference that outreach and treatment can make in people's lives and strongly believe in supporting that cause throughout my life. I'm currently in graduate school for clinical psychology and my primary interest is in substance use and particularly women's issues in substance abuse.
NACOA helps in providing literature to people who interact with those children affected by alcohol and drug abuse in their families so that we can hopefully improve our ability to identify these children in need of help and be able to provide appropriate services. If you are interested in finding out more information about NACOA, please check out their website at nacoa.org.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! I know it is a really difficult time for everyone with today's economy but even little amounts can add up to a big amount to help NACOA. Thank you :)
