Elina is an adorable 6 year old that lives with her great-grandmother, grandmother and aunt in Zambia. Her mother is deceased and her father is not present for unknown reasons. 

Since she joined CI, she was able to start school and now is in the 1st grade. She speaks Nyanja. She shares that mathematics and science are her favorite subjects and she enjoys playing with her friends and dancing.

Her family makes only $50 per month. They live in a concrete home with a corrugated metal roof. They use a coal stove to cook community facilities for water and latrine, and Elina sleeps on a mat on the floor (please see the phorto to the right).

This fundraiser will help provide Elina with the school uniform, shoes, and other school supples. Additionally, some will be used to provide needed food for the family. $57 will go towards a mattress for Elina. Since their home is small, this mattress will roll up to be stored during the day.
