The cats in the photo are named Andy & Griffith they're brothers. As I'm writing this two words come to mind "full circle"...let me tell you why.
First, just to give some of you some brief history, I've been volunteering with AZ Rescue a total of @ 4 years, it's by far been the most fulfilling, and rewarding aspect of my life. Rescue is an organization that saves dogs, and cats from "kill list" from local pounds. We then take them to our facilities, and love on them and take care of them until they find a loving home. Around this time every year we do our biggest fundraiser called Bowlarama. We all try to raise as much money as possible to cover all the costs, and also give us the ability to save more lives.
As many of you know I'm a huge animal lover, and I can honestly say it's been a tough year for everybody, but it's been extremely tough for the animals. With all the foreclosures so many animals that lived in loving homes, are now homeless, either on the streets, or at the pound, or worse they may have already been euthanized. With your help AZ Rescue can continue to save more lives, and find more loving animals a safe and secure home.
Now the "full circle" part. Some of you may not know but over the last couple of years I've done quite a bit of pet sitting. Some of those pet sitting jobs have been for extremely generous people that have adopted cats from our organization. One of those pets is the precious Delilah, and her sister Chloe. Delilah came to AZ Rescue and we all fell in love. She has the most amazing blue eyes, and long fluffy fur, and she has that unique trait of having thumbs not only on her front paws but her back paws too. At first she was a bit scared and not feeling too well. We all just loved her, and brushed her, and she settled in very nicely getting along well with everyone. Then Delilah's day came. A wonderful couple by the name of Randy, and Denise decided that Delilah would be the one to take home, and become the sister of their beautiful cat Chloe. Shortly after her adoption I had the pleasure of pet sitting for them. I was amazing to see Delilah in her new home, and Randy and Denise were the best parents. I could tell she was happy and loving life. I will try to get a picture of her and add it to my page.
Another "full circle" story has to do with the two handsome boys in the picture Andy, and Griffith. These two boys blessed our presence and we all just melted. Griffith was a little more outgoing, and Andy was...well...he was just plan scared. Eventually he came around. We took care of these two for a long time, but we all had faith that the right person would adopt them, and they would be in a great home. Well that day came, and as I write this story I'm sitting at the desk of their loving Mom Nancy. Andy, and Griffith are so happy and healthy and a loving home suits them. So as you can see I've had the distinct pleasure of being a part of the whole process. Seeing them come to our facility, caring for them, and them seeing them in their new homes, and there's nothing more satisfying then seeing the spark come back into an animal’s eye when they have finally found a home. Okay I'm even going to shed a tear.
Thank you for reading, and remember no donation is too small. If you know anyone that would like to donate please forward the information. Just because I'm in a different state doesn't make the impact any less rewarding. With all your help AZ Rescue can continue to save lives.
