In 2001 the worst scenario you can imagine as a parent became harsh reality for our friends Jacque and Ed Porter. Their beautiful boy, Blake, was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor.
All of the Porter's, especially Blake, fought his cancer with a grace and dignity that I could only hope to muster on my best day. Despite this, Blake earned his angel wings in 2005 at only 16 years of age and the world stopped for Jacque and Ed. Blake joined the ranks of countless other children that cancer robbed of their chance to grow up.
To honor Blake and keep his memory alive we have made an annual commitment to the Porter's to support the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children, Inc. (BTFC).
The miracle workers at the BTFC are rocks to faltering parents. They are a lifeline offering hope, emotional and financial support and love to these struggling families after their child has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. They were a tremendous support to the Porter's and Blake loved all the staff.
These incredible people NEED our financial support to continue their critical services and programs.

2). Registering for the walk. Put your tennis shoes on and join our team, "Blake's Buddies"' for the walk. Go to www.firstgiving.com/btfc to register. Please indicate our team name on the registration form. You can wait and register on race day, but it is usually an additional $5 at the event.
