Special Olympics Forsyth County is proud to send two golfers to represent Forsyth County and Team NC at the upcoming Special Olympics North America Golf Invitational Tournament in Glendale, Arizona. Competition will take place from September 6-10, 2012.
Matthew Smitherman and Lawrence Blume will be playing 9-hole Alternate Shot in this tournament. Matthew has been involved in Special Olympics for over 5 years. He has been an avid golfer for over 14 years. Lawrence Blume has been coaching and volunteering with Special Olympics Forsyth County for over 4 years. He has helped with the Golf team for the past 2 seasons. This will be both players first time playing in a National Golf Tournament.
Lisa Kiser, local coordinator Special Olympics Forsyth County, will accompany the pair and also serve as head of delegation for the entire delegation from North Carolina.
