Lisa Umstead's Fundraising Page For Parrot Haven
The Parrot Fanciers Club was the foundation for Parrot Haven, Long Island's first Parrot Sanctuary.
Parrot Haven takes in unwanted, neglected, abused and homeless birds of all sizes and species. Many need medical care and have to be rehabilitated due to psychological and physical abuse so that they can be placed in loving and caring homes.
Many birds are so debilitated that they remain permanent residents here. Baby, an orange crowned amazon came in from Delaware in 2000, after becoming paralyed in a fall. He continues to thrive and attends all Parrot Haven events. Nikki, an African Grey, had her legs were broken, after her former owner beat her with a spatula. Her legs never healed properly so she has difficulty walking. Nikki has also been at Parrot Haven since 2000.
Parrot Haven relies on donations to feed, house and provide medical care. At any given time, there are approximatley 55 birds at Parrot Haven.
Parrot Haven is a 501(3)c Non Profit Organization.
All donations are Tax Deductable.
