The primary beneficiaries of Laura’s March 2012 will be Women Helping Battered Women (WHBW) and the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program.

For WHBW, the LKW Fund is raising supplemental emergency assistance funds, to go entirely and directly to victims of abuse and their children, for basic expenses like food, transportation, and utilities.

For SANE, which serves children and adult victims of sexual and physical violence at Fletcher Allen Health Care, the LKW Fund is raising funds to send two nurses to the annual symposium of the International Association of Forensic Nurses. There they will discuss research and participate in learning opportunities that augment their skills in ministering to assault victims. Funds will also be used to purchase the Atlas of Sexual Violence, an encyclopedic teaching tool for medical practitioners.
