Fans of Special Olympics Virginia are invited to join local law enforcement as they take to the streets to end the derogatory use of the "R-Word." Immediately following the Run with the Law 5k on October 22, families, children, Special Olympics athletes - anyone! - will run to leave the R-Word in the dust at this inaugural 1 mile race.
Hosted by the University of Mary Washington, Run with the Law/End the Word are debut events for the Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Torch Run unites officers from law enforcement agencies and corrections departments across the state in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Virginia.
