Operation Freefall: The Two-Mile High Stand Against Sexual Assault®
On April 30, 2011, I will be participating in the nation's boldest, highest-altitude, and most daring effort to put an end to sexual assault. It's called Operation Freefall: The Two-Mile High Stand Against Sexual Assault®.
Operation Freefall is the only event of its kind to increase awareness of sexual violence. I will join thousands of people at drop zones across the country who will take to the sky and jump. Our goal: To raise funds for Speaking Out About Rape (SOAR) who Help survivors throughout the healing process. Increase awareness about sexual assault. Educate lawmakers, police officers, students, the public, and the media about sexual assault. Provide recovery, risk-reduction, and prosecution information to tens of millions of people, including many in your local community, each year.
As a survivor of rape, I have had my share of dark times, but God in His infinite wisdom led me to such organizations as these. There i found hope for healing. Moving past the insaitable fear and the silence that kept me bound. I found my voice and when i did it said...Thank you
The FBI categorizes rape as the second most violent crime a person can experience, second only to murder.
To put it another way, it's the most violent and traumatic crime any victim lives to remember.
Every two minutes, another American is sexually assaulted. It is the most under-reported of all crimes in the United States.
You can help stop this silent destruction.
I’ve agreed to raise $1,000 before Apri 1, 2011, and I need your help to do it! I CHALLENGE YOU TO GIVE FROM YOUR HEART TO HELP ME REACH MY GOAL!
If you are having trouble deciding how much to donate, dont fret, just pull out your check book and send a blank check to me and I'll take care of the rest! (I'm only kidding, but if you feel a tug in that direction dont hold back!) And for those who need help with spelling try M-I-L-L-I-O-N. Keep in mind that these donations are tax deductable and every little bit helps!
The effects of sexual violence impact all of us. It took me a long time to find my voice, but now that i have, its loud and clear! That is why I've committed myself to this event. I urge you to share in this incredible adventure by supporting me in my fundraising efforts. You can also check out www.operationfreefall.com. Thank you so so much for your generosity and support!
