STATE FUNDING CUTS JEOPARDIZE LIVERMORE HIGH SCHOOL’S WINTER 2010 SOCCER PROGRAMS

While the Livermore High School (LHS) Soccer Program had a successful year, the program faces reduction or elimination due to the declining California economy. It would be unfortunate if the program were not available for those young men and women who enjoy playing the game. The boys’ program is in particular need of funding to continue next year.

To support the LHS soccer program, donations from the community are being sought to help pay for equipment, uniforms, awards, and coaching stipends. As a token of appreciation, donor’s names will be published in the school newspaper and on the school’s website as an official sponsor. With the community’s help, we are sure to earn the funds needed to continue this upcoming year!

• The Livermore High School boys soccer team fields three teams, Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity, of about 17 boys each.
• Each student’s cost to play ranges from $120 to $140.
• Sponsorship will help fund the cost of a certified athletic trainer, uniforms, awards, equipment and coach’s stipends.
• The season of sport is November through February.
• Livermore High School plays in the East Bay Athletic League (EBAL).
• You or your company will be recognized for your support on the Livermore High School web page, the Livermore High School monthly newsletter and the Independent Newspaper.
• Funding needs to be confirmed by October 1, 2010.
