Liz Coots's Fundraising Page
Okay...so now I have a beautiful new joint in my left knee and can do just about everything I would like to do....I am doing so well that the powers that be asked that I organize the volunteer/registration portion of our "Run" this year. So on September 12th, rather than doing a power walk, I will be supervising the "Run for Friendship". This is a benefit for The Friendship Club--an organization that is very near and dear to my heart. The Friendship Club helps disadvantaged girls in Nevada County with a year-round program of after-school tutoring, one-on-one mentoring, cultural field trips, peer support, community service opportunities, and a full summer enrichment program. You can learn more about The Friendship Club at www.friendshipclub.org. The Friendship Club receives no state or federal funding. Our funding comes from you...so please be as generous as you can. No donation is too small (or too large, for that matter). My goal is to raise $1200. Here are some of the ways your donation could be used:
- $50 can fund an educational field trip for 10 girls.
- $100 can pay for groceries for an after school meal for 100 girls.
- $250 can provide school supplies and basic clothing for one girl for a year.
- $500 can send four girls on a weekend trip to tour 3 colleges.
Our college tour programs have been very successful. Girls not only graduate from high school now but continue on to college. We show them the possibilities, help them with applications and provide them with scholarships. We are with our girls through college or trade school and are thrilled to see them pursue careers. We are family.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. But, if you have reservations about donating online, please feel free to send me a check in the name of The Friendship Club and I will deliver it myself!
Many thanks for your support -- it is greatly appreciate!
