Carrie’s Heart (http://www.carriesheart.org/), is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Houston, Texas is dedicated to improving the education, community involvement and overall quality of life of children with disabilities worldwide.  The central belief driving the mission is the recognition that all children, despite their disability or economic status, deserve to have basic needs met such as food, clothing and medical care, as well as the opportunity to enrich their lives, allowing them to achieve their greatest potential.

In March 2011 and then in January 2012, I had the opportunity to visit some of these sweet children, young adults and their families, in the Yucatan area in Southern Mexico.  In collaboration with the other therapists, we have developed a wish list of items that would like to be able to purchase or obtain.  If you are able to donate financially or by donating a much needed item, then please take a look at the list and let me know how much and/or what item you would like to donate towards (Please inform us if you are interested in donating items, so we can let you know if have already obtained them, so that we do not accumulate duplicate items).  Let me know if you already have a used item in good condition that you would like to donate.  These children also require basic day to day supplies such as food thickeners, diapers, formula, bottles, cups, interactive toys, etc.

Every year therapists, doctors, educators and volunteers travel to Mexico multiple times to train families, therapists and caregivers. Your donation will directly support buying supplies for these children and families and providing training.
