I became a Big to honor the influence of the mentors in my life.  There are those special people who enlarge your world and help you see new possibilities.  My dad taught me how to work hard, set high standards for myself, and have integrity.  My mom taught me that there is always time for compassion and lifting up others. For a little girl whose father was a mechanic, it was a revelation to meet someone who made their living as a WRITER.  For a horse-crazy kid, it seemed incredible that someone could be a professional RIDING INSTRUCTOR!  I know firsthand how we can inspire someone else simply by being ourselves.

I am a Big to honor them all - my mom and dad. and all of the teachers, employers, and caring adults who inspired me by showing me just how big the world could be.

I feel blessed to be able to share with my Little some of the magic that others have shared with me!  Let's come together to make more of that kind of magic possible!
