Early last year I noticed a small, dark, abnormal looking growth on my left shin.  I went to a dermatologist who took a biopsy of the site.  The results of that biopsy left me diagnosed with melanoma, a very serious form of skin cancer that is a growing epidemic in our society.  Since my diagnosis, I have had two surgeries to remove the cancer and ran in the Boulder Back Roads Half Marathon last September once I recovered.  Our team raised $11,811.00 to support the Melanoma Research Foundation as they search for ways to treat this deadly disease.  Thanks to all of you who helped us in surpassing our fundraising goal!

Over the past year, I've decided to move on from my executive chef position in NYC and fulfill my dream of opening my own restaurant.  Last month, my fiance and I moved to Denver, CO where I will open my first restaurant, ChoLon Bistro, this coming October.  In continuing our fight against melanoma, we are running with Team M4M in this year’s Rock 'n' Roll Denver Marathon to further support the Melanoma Research Foundation and to promote awareness on the serious risks associated with skin cancer.
