TEAMM4M 2011
Two years ago, I noticed a small, dark, abnormal looking growth on my left shin. I went to a dermatologist who took a biopsy of the site. The results of that biopsy left me diagnosed with melanoma, a very serious form of skin cancer that is a growing epidemic in our society. Since my diagnosis, I have had two surgeries to remove the cancer.
I ran in the Boulder Back Roads Half Marathon in September of 2009, our team raised almost $12K to support the Melanoma Research Foundation as they search for ways to treat this deadly disease. Last October I ran the Denver Rock and Roll Half Marathon and our team raised over $50K.
In continuing our fight against melanoma, we are running with Team M4M in this year’s Denver Rock 'n' Roll Marathon to further support the Melanoma Research Foundation and to promote awareness on the serious risks associated with skin cancer.
Thank you for your support,
Lon
