Loretta Gaspar's Fundraising Page
Aloha. As some of you may already know, I've signed up to be a part of the Miracles in Motion (MIM) Team through Phoenix Children's Hospital (PCH). Each person on the team will be running in the P.F. Changs Rock and Roll Marathon on behalf of an Honor Patient. Last month, I had the opportunity to meet the beautiful young girl that I will running in support of, Erika.Below is Erika's story written by her mother:
Erika was born at 27wks only weighing one pound four ounces. She has fought infections and struggled through weight issues that we have almost lost her several times. Our daughter has fought to stay alive and she has become a hero to us. She recently has a tracheostomy that she had removed and has flourished from this. She is our social butterfly to where she leaves a smile on everyone’s face. Without PCH our social butterfly would not be soaring in everyone’s life and heart. They were first to recognize what major issues she was struggling with, after being in two other hospitals.
Working at Mosaic, an organization that supports persons with developmental disabitlies, has allowed me to witness and be an active participant in helping people lead extraordinary lives. Many of the indivdiuals I've supported through Mosaic have utilized PCH. The entity's mission to provide hope, healing, and the best healthcare for children and their families is evident upon walking into the place. I've had the opportunity to interact with the nurses and doctors, at PCH as I've visted with patients and each time I am impressed with everyone's sincerity in providing the best possible care for the indivdiual.
As part of my commitment to being a part of the MIM Team, I've agreed to raise at least $1,500. All of the money donated will be used to provide the most urgent care for the patients and families PCH serves. I am stoked!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Mahalo for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Maraming salamat po (Thank-you very much in Tagalog) for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
