Dear Friends and Family,
As I sit here reading Runner's World Magazine, trying to map out my 2011 training schedule I think to myself...why am I running this crazy race again??? After about 2 seconds I came up with the following...
1. First and foremost is to help Gunnar and others with CF live a long and healthy life. As it has been proven, running and exercise in general helps everyone live longer and healthier. I also have witnessed how difficult life becomes as a CF patient gets older and I want to do everything possible to help.
2. My son Brian decided to run his first marathon after joining me for almost 10 miles last year and he is doing it for his very good friend, Gunnar. Even though he is now 23, I feel I have to be there for him. It's been fun so far maping out our runs and talking training together...doesn't get better than that.
3. Personal reasons always give an extra push. Training, conditioning, staying in shape, eating right, setting goals and being competitive are all things that drive me. Not to mention proving to myself that turning 50 this year means nothing.
4. And of course, Taylor wasn't in last years picture and i'd like to have all three kids in this year's pic.
So, at this time, I'm again reaching out to my friends and family to help support me in this year's endeavor. Without your generous donations and heartfelt encouragement when you see me training, I wouldn't be able to accomplish such a race. Please click on the following link and make your donation now, every little bit counts. And, as always...
Peace, love and 26.2,
Lori Fleishhacker
