Poor Sarah, she has had quite a tough life since the start. Sarah started off being dumped as a puppy at the South Los Angeles Shelter. We all know how over crowded and noisy it is there; the poor baby was so scared. Then one day a rescue came in and saved Sarah. BOY WHAT A DAY FOR HER! She was safe, she knew so many did not get out alive, but she did! She was rescued.
Sarah watched as more and more animals came into the rescue, her play space was getting smaller and smaller. Still Sarah kept her tail up, but she knew something was not right. Was her perfect world coming to an end?
All of a sudden people in uniforms busted in and took her and all her friends to a building that looked like the place she lived in when she was a pup. It was! It was another shelter!! Poor Sarah was separated from all her pals and once again behind a cage. She could hear all of them, but could not see them, could not play with them, and she became very depressed.
Sarah was diagnosed with mange and was told she had it for quite sometime. (She always wondered what made her so uncomfortable!) No one was treating Sarah's skin, and it got worse and worse.
Sarah ended up in the shelter AGAIN for 6 months while the trial was going on. Everyday she just sat there remembering playing with her friends, living in a home, she knew what freedom tasted like and now she was back behind bars. She knew all her friends were there too, that is what kept her going.
Finally, Karma Rescue came and took Sarah out of the shelter. She was free once more. She was so excited she did not know what to do with herself. But sadly, she went straight to a vet’s office and into another cage because her skin desperately needed to be treated. Sarah was such a good sport, so many volunteers came by to see her and keep her happy. She knew in her heart, this was only temporary and her skin started to feel better so she had hope.
Sarah was finally released after another month, and went to cage free day care. Sarah LOVES other dogs; she was in heaven playing with all her dog friends. Sarah always hoped that all her friends were lucky like she was. Just as she thought life cannot get any better...SARAH FINDS A FOSTER HOME!!
Sarah went into the best foster home ever. Her foster mom has her own dog Brutus and now Sarah has a brother. The best of pals too. They goof around all the time, cuddle at night, a true buddy, a true best friend. Sarah and Brutus go hiking every morning through the mountains. This is the first time she has ever seen green hills, and felt green grass, and tons of flowers, she is beside herself. She thinks she is living in heaven. All of a sudden on one of the hikes Sarah's knee goes POP. Sarah got so scared, she was so scared that she was broken and now what would happen to her again. Would she have to go back into a cage? She pretended nothing happened but she could not hide her pain any more. Little did Sarah know how much we all love her and her days behind bars are gone forever! We took her to the vet and poor Sarah needs a $2000 surgery cranial cruciate ligament/ ACL of the knee. Sarah wants to help us raise the money, she knows we need it. Please help Sarah get her surgery. She is in pain now, and the last thing any of us want is for her to be in pain...after all Sarah has endured, she is worth every penny!!
