On October 9, 2005, I will be running the Chicago Marathon to raise funds and awareness for Neurofibromatosis. Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a tumor disorder that causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere in or on the body at any time. At the present time, there is no means of prevention, no effective treatment and no cure. We have a family member with NF.

I am running with my sister, Diane Steidler, and friend, Julie Stanley. They have both run marathons in the past. This will be my first. We are part of a team of 12 representing NF, Inc. New England and hope to raise $100,000. I plan to raise $8,000 and need your help to do that. Please consider donating to this little known, poorly understood and underfunded condition.
