Jan (mom), Carol (sister), Kristin (daughter), & Lorraine (friend) are teaming up on May 31, 2008 to help raise money for Water 1st International, an organization dedicated to bringing clean water to the poorest communities around the world.   bandee:usa, Lorraine's company, is sponsoring us!  (Kristin is wearing her bandee: in the photo.)  Please check out www.Water1st.org to learn more.

Together, we will carry 5 gallons of water (40 pounds) for a distance of 5 kilometers (3.1 miles).  While this seems a daunting task to us, it's what people do every day in order to have clean water. 

We are hoping to raise $5,000.  Yes, this is a daunting amount, but we're going to give it our best shot.  $50 will provide clean drinking water for a child for his/her entire life.  Wow!
