I have been in training for months to undertake the many challenges that this walk presents. I have worked so hard that I have had to augment my diet in an attempt to maintain my weight, and still I lost 1-1/2 pounds of ugly fat (I think most of it dripped out of the greasy burger I was eating.) The walk will begin deep in the grassy heartlands of the URI quadrangle, will cross the expanses of two massive parking lots and proceed down thoroughfare after thoroughfare before we climb and descend no fewer than three speed bumps. All of that before we even reasch the plains on Plains Rd. I expect exhaustion and dehydration to set in about the halfway mark, but I am determined to finish on the same day that I start (more or less). I would love to have your support and/or your company as I complete this two mile hellacious journey. Can you donate just $10 (or a couple of thou) to support me AND South County Habitat for Humanity? All funds raised on this walk will go towards building affordable housing for hardworking families in South County, Rhode Island! If needed, funeral services will be at the Hill Funeral Home--I promise not to haunt anyone who makes a donation--everybody else--I will be seeing you.
Plus, we'll be that much closer to getting a hard-working South County family into a safe, decent house they can AFFORD. I have already paid my $10 to support the URI-sponsored Habitat house. What can you give to help right now? Remember, every dollar you donate helps us build a REAL Habitat house, right here on the URI Campus!
***all donations are tax-deductible***
If you'd like to take part in the walk, please join us- the first 150 participants receive a giant inflatable hammer (and who doesn't want a giant inflatable hammer?!), in addition to the good karma that comes from helping families in need of a hand-up (not a hand-out.)
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
