Jewel is one of our mommy dogs that was rescued out of Riverside shelter with her puppies. She is an adorable mix of Italian Greyhound. Her pups and her were in horrible condition and were covered in hundreds of "stick fleas". Jewel has since been weaned from her puppies and has been happily living in a foster home. Last week Jewel came down with some severe stomach issues so we rushed her to our vet. She was so dehydrated from her symptoms that she needed to be transported from our vet to the Southern California specialty hospital for 24 hour IV fluids and care. Jewels red blood cell count was sky high and she was diagnosed with Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE). Jewel is expected to have a 100% recovery, but we need your help to raise funds for her 6 days of hospitalization and treatment.
