Linda A. Transou Melanoma March Fundraising Page
Although family and friends still mourn the loss of our precious Linda, we have found solace in the fact that we carry on her progressive vision to find a cure. With this annual march, we hope to heighten prevention and to raise funds solely dedicated to the research development of Melanoma cancer treatment.
And we are carrying on that vision. In just three walks, Linda’s March has raised over $185,000 to support the research organized and supported by the Melanoma Research Foundation. These efforts have resulted in the first two-year $200,000 grant for Melanoma research. It was awarded to Dr. Martin McMahon at the University of California-San Francisco. The grant has been coined “The Diana Ashby Award in Memory of Linda A. Transou.” Diana Ashby was the founder of the Melanoma Research Foundation and passed away from this disease herself in May, 1997.
Our goal is to fight the battle Linda started so that other families do not have to endure what Linda’s family has. This year, and each year moving forward, we will share with you another family’s battle with Melanoma. Last year we highlighted the Stramy family who will again be with us this year. We are thankful and blessed to have them with us to fight this battle. This year, we welcome Team Misteravich to our family. More details to follow on this wonderful family.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support.
