Hi Everyone!

Our Spring Dental and Vaccination Clinic is fast approaching and this lovely mare, Lulu, will be one of the first in line to have her teeth checked out and worked on. I am asking for some help to cover the cost of this clinic and have my fingers crossed that you are willing to help out, even just a bit :) Every little bit helps, and it would be greatly appreciated.

 

For those of you who aren't familiar with Lulu, here's her story:

 Originally posted on July 5, 2010 - The latest mare to be protected under the Pregnant Mare Rescue umbrella of lifetime safety is a lovely mare named Lulu. Lulu is a seven year old registered quarter horse, sweet as can be, but unfortunately lame in her front right. When Lulu’s owner realized that she was no longer able to provide the care required she began the difficult task of trying to find a loving home for this girl. This is never an easy decision but Lulu’s owner did the responsible thing and tried very hard to find Lulu that perfect home. A year passed and although Lulu generated lots of interest, most inquiries ended abruptly when the potential buyers were asked to provide references. Apparently a lot of people really didn’t care that Lulu was lame - it just didn’t matter, but the need to provide references mattered greatly & suddenly the interest disappeared. Rather scary. 

 

Lulu is now safe from potential ‘buyers’. Her lameness issue is being addressed and will continue to be evaluated - bar shoes seem to have helped a lot - she is moving more comfortably with a soft, contented expression and covering more ground in her pasture. Lulu is enjoying being a horse again. 

Lulu continues to do well in foster care, and she has made many improvements with her lameness issues with the help of Balanced Stride farrier work.
