Meet Lulu!

 

Lulu is a seven year old registered quarter horse, sweet as can be, but unfortunately lame on her front right. When Lulu's owner realized she was no longer able to provide the care Lulu required she began the heartbreaking task of trying to find a loving home for this sweet mare. A year passed and although Lulu generated lots of interest, most inquiries ended abruptly when the potential buyers were asked to provide references. Apparently, a lot of people really didn't care that Lulu was lame - it just didn't matter, but the need to supply references mattered greatly and suddenly the interest disappeared. I think it's easy to guess where the interest was coming from. Rather scary.

 

So now Lulu is safe from potential ‘buyers’ and part of the lucky horses with Pregnant Mare Rescue. Her lameness issue is being addressed and will continue to be evaluated - bar shoes seem to have helped a lot - she is moving more comfortably with a soft, contented expression and covering more ground in her pasture. Lulu is enjoying being a horse again.

At this time Lulu is not available for adoption, but sponsors to help cover the cost of Lulu's care would be greatly appreciated. 

The monthly cost of Lulu’s care is $255.00. Farrier cost is $110.00 every six to eight weeks at this time.
