2012 POLICE UNITY TOUR
 

The 2012 Police Unity Tour is From May 10 to May 12, tour riders cycle over 250 miles from Portsmouth, Va to Washington DC, in honor of those that have given their lives in the line of duty and to ensure their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

This is my third year participating in the Police Unity Tour.  As a member of law enforcement for over 14 years and a member of Polk County Sheriff's Office, I feel compelled to give something to the profession I love.  I have visited the National Law Enforcement Memorial several times and have seen many names of officers I knew personally that were fellow brothers killed in the line of duty.  This Memorial and the future building of the Museum are a vital part of American History and I want to do my part to solidify  that it is a part of history.  My fellow brothers killed in the line of duty also deserve the right to be memorialized for the sacrifice they gave.

The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum. The Police Unity Tour is the single largest private sponsor of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. In 11 years the Tour has raised over $4 million to maintain the Police Memorial in Washington DC. The National Police Museum will become a part of the Memorial in the near future.

I am looking forward to honoring those "HEROES" who made the ultimate sacrifice.
