12 year old climbs Mt. Kilimanjaro

Thank you for visiting Amanda's Personal Fundraising Page.

Amanda is a 12 year old from Switzerland who has been on the move for The Progeria Research Foundation. On October 7, 2005 she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with her mother, uncle and a guide to raise money for PRF. Here is what Amanda had to say about her tremendous journey, "...it was an amazing experience. I reached the 5000m to (make my goal). HOORAY! I did it. ..our guide said I had reached the limit I wanted to get to so we could go back down now; I said I had gotten this far and I wasn't going to turn back!" They continued on and reached Gillman's Point, not far from the very top.
We are awaiting more news and photos of Amanda's climb, and we will share them with you as soon as they come in. Even before this amazing feat, Amanda had raised over $5,000 in sponsorships from her friends, family and school!

Money raised on this page will all go directly to The Progeria Research Foundation, which is fighting against time to help save all the children suffering from this disease around the world. PRF funds valuable research for the cure; a cure that could not only help the children with Progeria, but also the millions of people who suffer from heart disease and the aging population as a whole. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Check back to see photos of Amanda and hear more about her spectacular climb!
