My name is Maegan Barbee; I am raising money for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. This will be a part of my campaign for the American Red Cross Queen of Hearts 2010. The campaign is a scholarship campaign for high school girls. During the month of February candidates raise money and awareness for the Red Cross' missions in our community.

Yearly, the American Red Cross helps thousands of people. I Know about that help first hand. In November 2008 my home was destroyed by tornadoes that devastated our neighborhood in Kenly, NC. The Red Cross was there before the sun came up, offering us dry clothing, food and a safe place to stay. Since then myself and my mom have become American Red Cross volunteers. This is just another way to say " thank you" for the assistance we received and my way of giving back to my community.

 All proceeds from my campaign goes directly back into the community to help others, like my family or those who lose their homes to fire or other disasters. Will you help me become Johnston County's 2010 Queen of Hearts?
