Maggie Bridges's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I am training to run in the Richmond Marathon on November 14. In lieu of raising money for the marathon benefit, I am fundraising for the Autism Society of America. Fundraising for autism research and awareness has special meaning to me since I work with children with autism in my career as an occupational therapist. I also have a close personal relationship with a boy named Ryan, a seven-year-old on the autism spectrum; I have done therapy work with him for over three years. I have seen how much organizations like the Autism Society benefit kids like Ryan, as well as their families, in more ways than one.
The Autism Society, the nation's leading grassroots autism organization, exists to improve the lives of all affected by autism. We do this by increasing public awareness about day-to-day issues faced by people on the spectrum, advocating for appropriate services for individuals across the lifespan, and providing the latest information regarding treatment, education, research, and advocacy.
I'm taking part in the Walk for Autism-VA 2009 to raise money for the Autism Society of America, on the team "Ryan's Angels."
Please consider making a donation. All donations are secure and sent directly to the Autism Society of America by Firstgiving, who will email you a printable record of your donation. You can be confident that your donation will benefit Ryan and the other 1.5 million kids and adults in the US who are on the autism spectrum.
Thank you for your generosity!
