Lucy Kate was born 10 weeks premature in January 2009 with Trisomy 21 and several congenital heart defects. She weighed 2lbs at birth and has come such a long way. She just had open heart surgery in August 2009 to repair her heart. She is still currently recovering from surgery in the hospital.

We are walking to show Lucy and her family that we support them in all of their efforts. Lucy is the strongest little girl I have ever met and a major inspiration to us all. We are walking for, and with, Lucy Kate!
