Most of you already know that our daughter Maci was born with Spina Bifida almost 5 years ago. She is paralyzed from the waist down, has a shunt and uses a manual wheelchair, hand pedaled bike, RGO‘s, AFO's, walker, canes, leg immobilizers , mobil stander and a powered wheelchair for outside play. Maci has had 8 surgery's in the last 4 1/2 years, and numerous hospitalizations.

Maci’s continues to use her walker at school and at therapy.  The big accomplishment in the last 2 months has been her determination to use her walking canes!  Our hope is that she will use the canes to get around her classroom.  In the next couple months our house is being transformed to help Maci be more independent.  We are remodeling our kitchen to make it more user friendly for Maci.  We are also having doors widen and wood floors installed.  I’m praying for controlled chaos while this takes place.

Maci continues to keeps us very busy with her therapies, but I would not trade her for the world!! Maci has been a wonderful addition to our family and such a BLESSING in our lives. If you have not met Maci, I can't wait till you do! She will be 5 October 10th and will start her last year of pre-school soon. Everyday she amazes me with her spunky attitude! There will be nothing that will slow her down.
