Thank you for visiting Team Maci Mauch's fundraising page! Most of you already know that our daughter Maci was born with Spina Bifida. She is paralyzed from the waist down, has a shunt and uses a manual wheelchair, hand pedaled bike, HKAFO's, AFO's, walker, leg immobilizers , mobil stander and a powered wheelchair for outside play. Maci has had 7 surgery's in the last 3 1/2 years, and numerous hospitalizations. Surgery #8 is coming late September, this will require bilateral anterolateral hip flexor-abductor releases, bilateral posterior knee releases, with likely a division of a portion of the iliotibial band. Sounds complicated right, we hope this will straighten her legs so bracing for walking will be easier.

Maci's big accomplishment this summer has been to go under water for 6 seconds and open her eyes. She is better at that than her older sisters ! Not sure if you knew this but Maci and our family were a featured story on WCCO news last year. Check out the video clip on the right hand side of the report.

 She keeps me very busy with all her therapies, but I would not trade her for the world!! Maci has been a wonderful addition to our family and such a BLESSING in our lives. If you have not met Maci, I can't wait till you do! She will be 4 October 10th and will start pre-school soon. Everyday she amazes me with her spunky attitude. There will be nothing that will slow her down.

We are so excited to be involved again this year in the Run, Walk, and Roll event with the Spina Bifida Association of Minnesota.
