My name is Malysa, I am 14 years old. I have a very large family with 3 brothers and 3 sisters... I am the second oldest of 7. When I was 5 months old I developed a serious heart disease and went into heart failure. It was so serious that when I was 2 years old I had a heart transplant, that was 11 years ago.  I have had many surgeries and setbacks over the past 11 years. Because I have no immune system and my chest is really only held together with wires, it is very hard for me to participate in activities. I can't be out in the heat or the cold for very long. A few years ago this camp, just for children like me was started and it has been my escape from the hospital and has allowed me to be normal.

Camp Taylor provides free summer camp to children, like me, with heart disease. They also think a lot about my family. I get to take my older brother with me too, for FREE!!!

I have a younger brother who was also born with heart disease, but he didn't need a transplant like me. He attends Camp Taylor now too. We even get to bring one of our sisters and my older brother for Free!!!

I am very lucky to be able to attend Camp Taylor and I hope that everyone who reads this will consider dontating to them so that they can continue to let kids, like me, and their siblings attend camp for free for many years to come.

Every donation helps, even the $1.00 donations are always appreciated!! My goal is to raise $4,000.00 this year to send 4 kids to camp!!

Camp Taylor doesn't only have camps for children like me, they also have programs to help families, like mine, pay for expenses when travelling or staying in the hospital. All this is done by donation as well!!
