Around 4 months ago, a couple of friends convinced me to sign up for a 1/2 marathon at Disney World on February 26, 2012. Normally I would have answered NO immediately (I actually did the first 10 or so times they asked), but I was won over by the fact that this was a Princess marathon complete with tutus and tiaras. Anyone that knows me well knows I have always believed I was meant to wear tiaras on a regular basis!!! It was decided; if ever there was a time to sign up for such an event, the time was now.
As time has gone on and training has progressed more "sisters" have joined, and now we are a group of 10 "sole sisters" running/walking the Disney Princess 1/2 marathon together. We have decided to take this a step farther and complete this race in honor of the Ronald McDonald house in Macon, GA.
When my triplets were born 8 weeks premature in June 2002, the house was under construction. Two of my triplets were hospitalized in Macon for 3 weeks and my youngest, Tucker, was there for 5 weeks. During this time we were torn over where to stay and how we would pay for it all. It warms my heart to know the house was completed and families do NOT have to stress over these decisions like we did. Since the house opened, I have had several friends and family members benefit from the "home away from home" the Ronald McDonald house provides.
It is my hope that you will suppport me in my fundraising efforts and make a donation to the Ronald McDonald House. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
