It's a proven fact that children who have regular exposure to the arts score higher in subjects like math and science while generally having a better sense of well-being than those who don't. Drawchange helps make this happen by bringing challenging art programs and supplies to the kids who need it most. Having been to Costa Rica's Escuela Nuestra Señora de Fatima school twice, which holds about 400 children, drawchange has helped them realize their dreams through the power of creativity. A third visit is planned for next year, as is a trip to Ecuador. A program is also planned in early August for Bhutanese child refugees in Georgia.

Residing in Washington State, I'm a remote volunteer for drawchange, an Atlanta-based organization. I typically help with the smaller, behind-the-scenes tasks, but I would love the chance to be a part of the amazing activities it brings abroad and within its own community. An artist myself, I would be honored to help children break the cycle of poverty and envision better lives by supporting drawchange's mission!
