On Thursday May 15, SCGSR received a telephone call from the Central shelter. They had an starved and emaciated 8 month old German Shepherd puppy with hair loss all over his back end, and he was in so much pain he could barely move his back legs. It was to be Hank's last day at the shelter.
SCGSR volunteers rushed to the shelter and whisked Hank to the vet for an exam, where our vet found this poor puppy had very little musculature, dysplasia and needed surgery on both hips. We were afraid Hank might not have the will to live or enough strength to walk after his surgery, but Hank is doing his part! Now our vet says Hank has a good chance at a normal life! We didn't have time to think about where the money would come from - SCGSR volunteers felt that if this baby had a chance at a pain free, well-loved and happy life, SCGSR would make that happen!
Please help Hank pay for his surgery. His bill now stands at $1,600.00. Hank is also in need of a quiet foster home where he can gradually regain some muscle - two weeks and Hank will be a new dog! Please make a donation today to help Hank pay for his miracle, even the smallest donation helps! Make a donation to help Hank, and SCGSR will provide you with updates and photos of his progress! Contact us right away if you can foster Hank for a couple of weeks in a quiet environment, just until he can be with foster brothers and sisters. Hank will be forever grateful for any help you provide him!
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
