Mass Eye and Ear - Margaret's Marathon
April 18th, 2010
In just over 12 hours I leave the house for Boston to catch the bus to the start. 26,000 runners - the start is a mini-convention!
I am in the back of "wave 2" which means I am going to "hurry up and wait" until 10:30 tomorrow morning. I've had problems with sciatica ever since early February but I'm going to give this my best shot.
Help me out on the fundraising side - donate! Please!

I'm a month into Marathon training - and had my coldest runs this week. It's been below 15 every morning for the past week. The good news is that layers work - you can dress for the cold.
There was a great program at Mass Eye & Ear last week for those of us running for them. They do great work - I met a doctor working on a mechanical replacement eye.

I've been saying I was going to do this for years - and I finally am. I am running in the 2010 Boston Marathon and raising money for Mass Eye and Ear. Mass Eye and Ear is one of the world's leading research and treatment hospitals for vision and hearing problems - our most critical communications senses.
I've been to Mass Eye and ear to have my own (mild) hearing problems evaluated. The waiting room was full of chidren who couldn't hear much of anything and their worried parents. Help them out, donate!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
