Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
That's my grandson and granddaughter out there on the water. On May 14th at the Skokie Lagoons, they will be joining upwards of 50 kayakers who want to support Hala, our Iraqi student, in her efforts to learn computer security engineering at DePaul University. Once she graduates, she can use those skills to make her country and all of us safer. If you want to help, here's what you can do...
Register to Kayak Iraq. Go to Iraqidepaul.org to find out how. At that site you will learn about the great work that Iraqi Student Project is doing in placing talented Iraqi students whose access to higher education has been cut off as a result of the violence in that country and the degredation of their university system. There are currently 40 students, including Hala, currently studying at generous American universities, who have extended scholarships and tuition waivers. In addition ISP organizes local support groups to meet the financial and social needs of the students. DePaul is one of those universities and our support group needs you.
If you can't kayak, come out to cheer us on. Park in the forest preserve parking lot just east of 94 on Tower Road. There will be lots of fun, prizes and excitement.
Make a donation to help me reach my goal. Any amount will do. Every little bit helps. You can use any of the four major credit cards. Just push the donate button and they will guide you through the rest.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
